September in Wild Soul
Inner territory journeys, a tarot gathering, and incredible writing prompts to carry us into Spooky Season
I love Wild Soul. I carry its flame in my shirt pocket, warm against my heart, and I know many of you do, too. What started 2.5 years ago as a way to teach archetype and myth while growing the maps of our inner territories has become a vibrant, solid, earthy, stunning community of the most beloved people.
We like that Wild Soul remains intimate and truly trust that new people join us when they’re ready to. So this is not a post meant to pressure you into joining another online community. Rather, this is a door cracked open - light and music and such true village welcoming you from inside. Come if it feels right. We trust you’ll honor you.
Here’s what we’re doing together this month:
In this Self Reclamation (a unique guided meditation through the vast terrain of your soul and story), we are going to choose a single thread from the fabric of who we've been told we are or should be - something that does not belong to the original shape of our souls - and then we are going to gently pull it free. Just one thread, one piece of identity that does not belong to us. Just one story, one narrative, one misrepresentation. Piece by piece we continue to take ourselves back, finding healing, inner justice, and ease where the world has planted distrust, shame, or fear.
We are moving from one season to another. From Persephone to Demeter. From warmth to a chill. And as without, so is it within.
So let's ritualize the shift in the season, welcoming a new cycle of inner magic, depth, and transformation together.
An Inner Territory journey is a unique guided meditation through the vast terrain of your soul and story.
"The ribbon is not a secret; it's just mine."
-Carmen Maria Machado
In this cord cutting, we'll be circling the folklore revised by Machado in her short story The Husband Stitch. We'll lovingly identify our own green ribbon - the thing that is simply OURS and no one else's. We'll begin to intentionally release ourselves from any connection that has demanded access to that small, silken, lovely part of ourselves that is not meant to be given away.
A cord cutting is a unique guided meditation through the vast terrain of your soul and story. It is an opportunity to begin severing connections that have grown stale, stagnant, or one-sided. It requires no participation from another person and is done solely through your own energetic consent and empowerment.

as we continue our Fool's Journey!First, we will delve into the meaning behind The Hierophant card. We'll follow that up with time to pull cards for all.
Bring your own tarot and/or oracle cards to participate in any way you feel drawn to!
I'm really ready for an Autumn of writing prompts that send our roots down deep into the soil and tug at our fiercely forged hearts to widen a little. And I think that happens best when we are liberating ourselves from purity, from politeness, from the idea of "pretty".
So over the next two months, I'm going to be sharing writing prompts from these two books of short stories (one of our cord cuttings is going to circle Carmen Maria Machado's version of an old folklore about a green ribbon). May we come utterly unhinged. May we stretch into writing styles we haven't tried on before. May we find ourselves growing inside the crevices and strange realms of the slightly uncomfortable and truly unusual.
Wild Soul is a haven for heretics and healers. It is $22/month to join and you can try it out for a month for stay for years. Honor your own needs and rhythms. We offer sliding scale memberships and trans/BIPOC discounts.
